Religious Sites
Alonissos features a collection of Byzantine and post-Byzantine religious sites, particularly concentrated in the historic Old Village (Chora). These structures range from the 17th-century Church of Christ to isolated hillside shrines like Análipsi. Many of these churches, such as Agios Athanasios, are built within the remains of the island's medieval fortress walls and exhibit traditional Aegean ecclesiastical architecture with whitewashed stone and ceramic tiled roofs.
