Literary Heritage & Museums

Anykščiai serves as Lithuania's literary capital, housing the memorial sites of writers Jonas Biliūnas and Antanas Baranauskas. This collection features the 19th-century granary where the poem "The Forest of Anykščiai" was composed, the technical heritage of the century-old narrow-gauge railway, and ethnographic exhibits at the Horse Museum. The list also includes a 33-meter-high observation deck within the neo-Gothic St. Matthew’s Church, the tallest twin-towered church in the country.
