Aragatsotn Province: Essential Landmarks

Aragatsotn Province is defined by the dramatic volcanic landscape of Mount Aragats, Armenia's highest peak. The region is home to significant medieval architecture, including the monastic complexes of Hovhannavank and Saghmosavank, which overlook the deep Kasagh River Canyon. Visitors can explore the 4th-century Arshakuni Royal Tomb in Aghtsk, the medieval fortifications of Dashtadem, and the unique stone sculptures of the Armenian Alphabet Monument, which celebrate the nation's long-standing cultural and linguistic heritage.
