The Atacama Region’s religious heritage reflects a blend of colonial history and local devotion. Santuario Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria

Located in Copiapó, this sanctuary hosts the region's most significant religious festival every February. The current structure dates to 1922, replacing an earlier chapel built to house a 1780 stone image of the Virgin discovered in the Salado River.

A rock-hewn shrine in Caldera created by the priest Crisógono Sierra y Velásquez. The site features colorful murals and a chapel carved directly into the hillside, overlooking the Pacific coast.
