Religious Heritage

Bardejov’s spiritual landscape is anchored by the UNESCO-listed Basilica of St. Giles, renowned for its eleven Gothic winged altars. The town’s history is further shaped by the Franciscan monastery complex and the Jewish Suburbia, which includes the Old Synagogue and Beth HaMidrash. Beyond the Roman Catholic and Jewish sites, this collection features Greek Catholic churches and the Neoclassical Evangelical church, reflecting the multi-confessional heritage of this medieval royal town and its surrounding Calvary hill.
