Churches of Birgu & The Three Cities

The Three Cities of Birgu, Senglea, and Cospicua house some of Malta's most significant religious heritage. This collection features the 17th-century Baroque Collegiate Church of Saint Lawrence, which served as the Order of St. John’s first conventual church, and the Basilica of Our Lady of Victories, commemorating the Great Siege of 1565. From the grand architecture of Cospicua's Immaculate Conception Church to smaller maritime chapels, these sites reflect the deep-rooted maritime and military history of the Grand Harbour region.
