Parks and Green Spaces

Bruges' green belt follows the path of the city's second medieval defensive wall, creating a scenic promenade along the outer canals. This collection features sections of these historic ramparts, such as the Boeverievest and Katelijnevest, alongside central retreats like Koningin Astrid Park. Notable highlights include the modern 'Riders of the Apocalypse' sculptures at Hof Arents and the expansive Minnewaterpark, situated by the historic 'Lake of Love' at the city's southern edge. These spaces provide quiet walking paths and views of the city's water-bound perimeter.

Hof Arents Square

A tranquil spot hidden from the eyes of most tourists. There are four sculptures in the middle - Riders of the Apocalypse by Rik Poot.

Katelijnevest

Part of the second medieval city wall, this section offers a walking promenade along the historic moat, connecting the Katelijne Gate area toward the Gentpoort.

Kazernevest

A landscaped section of the city's outer ramparts in eastern Bruges, featuring wide walking paths and elevated views across the canal.

Minnewaterpark

A large park at the southern entrance of the city bordering the 'Lake of Love.' It contains the 15th-century Poertoren (gunpowder tower) and a scenic Gothic-style bridge.

Koningin Astrid Park

A spacious, beautiful park close to the city centre. There's a children's play area and a small pond.

Begijnvest

A promenade following the former medieval fortifications near the Beguinage, offering a quiet route along the canal between the Minnewater and the Boeverievest.

Professor Doctor Joseph Sebrechtspark

A secluded public park on the site of a former monastery garden, accessible via Beenhouwersstraat. It features mature trees and a large open lawn.
