This collection spans over two millennia of Crimean history, from the 4th-century BC Royal Kurgan and the ancient Greek city of Panticapaeum to the medieval mountain fortresses of Mangup Kale and Funa. It highlights the region's strategic importance through 14th-century Genoese fortifications and 17th-century Ottoman outposts. Modern history is represented by the 19th-century Kerch Fortress, the Romanovs' Livadia Palace—host of the 1945 Yalta Conference—and memorials dedicated to World War II partisan resistance.
