Waterfalls & Natural Pools

Located within the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park, these sites represent the diverse hydrology of the Mato Grosso Cerrado. The collection features the 86-meter Véu de Noiva drop and the sequential falls of the Circuito das Cachoeiras, a seven-kilometer trail following the Coxipó-mirim river. These sandstone-carved features include natural swimming holes like Prainha and tiered cascades such as Degraus, all set against ancient rock formations and native gallery forests.

Véu de Noiva

An 86-meter waterfall formed by the Coxipó-mirim river dropping over a sandstone cliff. It is visible from a dedicated lookout point located near the National Park's main entrance.

Cachoeirinha

A small waterfall featuring a shallow sandy bottom and a natural shower-like flow. It is accessible via a short trail from the park's visitor center.

Cachoeira dos Namorados

Located adjacent to Cachoeirinha, this gentle waterfall flows into a small pool. It is part of the easily accessible trail network near the park's main entrance.

Prainha

A river beach and waterfall on the Circuito das Cachoeiras. It features a wide, sandy-bottomed pool created by the Coxipó-mirim river.

Andorinha

Named after the swifts that nest behind its water curtain, this waterfall is a primary stop along the seven-kilometer Circuito das Cachoeiras trail.

Independência

A waterfall on the Circuito das Cachoeiras trail that drops over sandstone ledges into the river valley.

7 de Setembro

One of the sequential cascades found along the Circuito das Cachoeiras, characterized by tiered rock formations and natural bathing pools.

Pulo

A waterfall on the Coxipó-mirim river known for its deep natural pool, accessible via the guided Circuito das Cachoeiras trek.

Degraus

A series of small, step-like cascades along the riverbed that create shallow natural pools for bathing.

Lagoa Encantada
