Maritime Heritage

This collection highlights the strategic defense of the Oslofjord, centered on the mid-19th-century Oscarsborg Fortress. The sites trace Norway's naval history from the Iron Age hill fort at Skanseåsen to the pivotal 1940 battle where the main fort and Kopås battery successfully engaged the German cruiser Blücher. The list is completed by the maritime collections in Drøbak, which preserve traditional wooden boats and regional seafaring artifacts.
