Föhr’s cultural landscape is defined by its three medieval "island cathedrals"—Sankt Laurentii, Sankt Johannis, and St. Nicolai—which showcase Romanesque and Gothic architecture alongside historic "talking gravestones." Beyond these landmarks, the island's history stretches back to the Bronze Age, evidenced by ancient burial mounds like the Grabhügelfeld. Sankt Laurentii

A 12th-century Lutheran parish church in Süderende featuring Romanesque and Gothic architectural elements. It is known for its historic graveyard with "talking gravestones" that detail the lives and maritime achievements of deceased whalers.

Sankt Johannis

Commonly known as the "Frisendom," this 13th-century Gothic church in Nieblum is the largest on the island. It features a notable carved altar and a cemetery filled with ornate, informative headstones from the whaling era.

St. Nicolai

Located in Wyk-Boldixum, this 13th-century church combines Romanesque and Gothic styles. It houses a late Gothic winged altar and is surrounded by a cemetery documenting the island's maritime history.

An archaeological site containing a concentration of ancient burial mounds, or tumuli, dating back to the Bronze Age.
