Freiburg Parks and Viewpoints

Freiburg’s green spaces range from the historic Schlossberg hill to the expansive Seepark Betzenhausen, which was developed for the 1986 State Garden Show. The city is home to the Lorettobad, Germany's oldest open-air swimming pool, and the 1,284-meter Schauinsland mountain. Other highlights include the University’s botanical gardens in Herdern and the Mundenhof, a 38-hectare animal park. Numerous observation towers, such as the Roßkopfturm and Seeparkturm, provide views reaching across the Black Forest and the Rhine Valley.
