Religious Heritage

Guadix’s religious architecture spans the 16th to 18th centuries, showcasing the transition from Mudejar and Gothic styles to Renaissance and Baroque. The monumental Cathedral of the Incarnation, built over a former mosque, serves as the city's spiritual centerpiece. Surrounding it, the Iglesia de Santiago and various historic convents preserve intricate coffered ceilings and Plateresque facades, reflecting the city's ecclesiastical expansion following the Reconquista.

Iglesia de Santiago

An 18th-century Baroque church dedicated to the patron saint of Guadix. It was built on the site where the remains of San Torcuato were discovered and houses several significant religious artworks.

Convento de la Concepción
