Hebei Province Essentials
Hebei Province contains some of China's most significant imperial and defensive landmarks. The region is home to the Chengde Mountain Resort, a sprawling Qing dynasty palace complex, and the Eight Outer Temples, including the Tibetan-style Putuo Zongcheng. Extensive sections of the Great Wall, such as the well-preserved Jinshanling fortifications, traverse the province's northern mountains. Modern additions include the Zaha Hadid-designed Daxing International Airport on the Beijing-Hebei border.
