Hoi An’s spiritual landscape is defined by a fusion of Vietnamese, Chinese, and European influences. This list features the 15th-century Chuc Thanh Pagoda, the town's oldest, alongside the 17th-century Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, known for its ornate sea goddess shrine. Architectural highlights include the Quan Cong Temple’s intricate woodcarvings and the Catholic Cathedral’s mid-20th-century design. These sites provide a look into Zen Buddhist traditions and the diverse congregational history of this former trading port.

Catholic Cathedral

Though the present building was built in 1965, the history of this church dates back a lot further.

Minh Huong Communal House

This temple is dedicated to the Chinese general Quan Cong, who reminds people of sincerity and justice.

Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation

Built around 1690 to honor Thien Hau, the goddess of the sea. The complex features an ornate triple-gate, a courtyard with fountains, and intricate murals depicting Fujianese mythology.

Quan Cong Temple

Established in 1653, this temple honors the Chinese general Quan Cong. The interior features traditional red and gold motifs, detailed woodcarvings, and a prominent statue of the general's horse.

Chùa Phước Lâm

An 18th-century Buddhist temple belonging to the Lam Te Zen school. It features traditional tiered roofs and historic statues set within a garden environment.

Ngoc Cam

Buddhist pagoda and place of worship located in the northern part of Hoi An.

Chuc Thanh Pagoda

Founded in 1454, this is the oldest pagoda in Hoi An. It blends Vietnamese and Chinese architectural styles and is the birthplace of the Chuc Thanh Zen school.

Chua Long Tho

Buddhist temple and place of worship.
