Natural Wonders of Fejér

Fejér County's landscape is defined by the shallow, endorheic Lake Velence and the unique granite balancing rocks of the Velence Hills. The region features significant karst formations in the Vértes and Bakony mountains, including the fossil-rich Csákvár Cave and the highly protected Alba Regia cave. These sites, often managed by the Duna–Ipoly National Park, showcase rare geological erosion patterns and prehistoric paleontological discoveries.

Lake Velence

Lake Velence, an endorheic basin, is the third largest natural lake in Hungary. It is a popular holiday destination among Hungarians.

Alba Regia-barlang

A highly protected cave in the Bakony Mountains, recognized for its significant geological and speleological value.

Pogány-kő

A prominent granite formation within the Pákozd-Sukoró nature reserve, shaped by centuries of selective weathering and erosion.

Pákozdi ingókő

A granite balancing rock in the Velence Hills, part of a 44-hectare nature reserve managed by the Duna–Ipoly National Park.

Báraczháza-barlang
