Scenic Parks and Peaks

This collection highlights Shiga’s diverse landscape, spanning the rugged Suzuka Mountains to expansive recreational grounds. It includes Mt. Ibuki, the prefecture’s highest peak at 1,377 meters, and prominent peaks like Kamaga-dake and Mt. Gozaisho. For lower-altitude activities, the list features Kibogaoka Cultural Park, a 416-hectare site across Yasu and Konan, and Mt. Mikami, traditionally known as 'Omi Fuji.' These locations offer established hiking trails, historical mountain passes, and extensive sports facilities.

希望ヶ丘文化公園

A 416-hectare recreational area spanning Yasu, Konan, and Ryuo. Completed in 1974, the park includes a central field, sports facilities, and camping grounds.

Mt. Ibuki

Mount Ibuki is a 1,377-metre-high mountain, on the border of Maibara, Shiga Prefecture, and Ibigawa, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

Mt. Gozaisho

Mount Gozaisho is a Japanese mountain located on the border of Komono, Mie Prefecture and Higashi-Ōmi, Shiga Prefecture.

Mt. Mikami

Mount Mikami is a mountain, 432 metres above sea level, located in Yasu City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan.

水口スポーツの森

A municipal sports park in Koka City featuring athletic fields and recreational facilities managed by the Koka City Sports Association.

殿町公園

A local municipal park located in the Tonomachi district of Nagahama.

Nyoigatake Mountain

A 472-meter peak on the border of Kyoto and Otsu. It is crossed by the Nyoi-goe trail, an ancient path historically used to connect the Omi region with Kyoto.

Kamaga-dake

A 1,161-meter peak in the Suzuka Mountains. It is designated as one of the Suzuka Seven Mountains and is part of the Suzuka Quasi-National Park.

Shakagadake

Standing at 1,092 meters in the central Suzuka Mountains, this peak sits on the border of Shiga and Mie prefectures, located just north of Mt. Gozaisho.
