Hidden Gems

Junín’s landscape features some of Peru’s most significant natural and historical landmarks. The region is home to the Tres Hermanas Falls, the world’s third tallest waterfall at 914 meters, alongside several cascades in the Chanchamayo Province like Velo de Novia and Bayoz. Beyond the water, the area preserves pre-Inca history through the stone granaries of Arhuaturo and the archaeological remains at Vadama, offering a glimpse into the architectural heritage of the Huanca people.

Tres Hermanas Falls

Tres Hermanas Falls is reportedly the third tallest waterfall in the world, with a height of 914 metres.

Catarata Velo de Novia

Located in the Chanchamayo Province, this waterfall drops approximately 55 meters. It is characterized by its wide, white appearance resembling a bridal veil and flows into a natural pool.

Catarata Bayoz

A multi-tiered waterfall in the Perené Valley featuring two large drops and several natural pools used for swimming.

Catarata Las Tres Reynas

A series of three consecutive waterfalls located near San Ramón, accessible via a jungle trail that involves crossing small streams.

Catarata " El Tirol"

A 30-meter high waterfall located five kilometers from San Ramón. The site is surrounded by dense tropical vegetation and native orchids.

Arhuaturo

A pre-Inca archaeological site featuring 27 stone colcas (granaries) built by the Huanca culture on a hill overlooking the Mantaro Valley.

Catarata Gallito de las Rocas

A waterfall situated in the cloud forest, named after Peru’s national bird. It features a clear drop into a rocky basin.

Catarata "La Encantada"

A secluded waterfall near San Ramón characterized by its rocky cliff surroundings and natural forest setting.

Vadama

An archaeological site containing the ruins of a pre-Hispanic settlement attributed to the Huanca culture.
