Kawagoe Essentials

Known as 'Little Edo', Kawagoe preserves the architectural legacy of the Edo period. The district features the iconic Toki no Kane bell tower and the Kurazukuri warehouse street. Key historical sites include the Honmaru Goten, the only remaining palace building of Kawagoe Castle, and Kita-in Temple, which houses original structures moved from Edo Castle.
