Best Viewpoints

This collection encompasses the premier vantage points within Los Glaciares National Park and the surrounding El Chaltén region. It features overlooks of the iconic granite spires of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, alongside expansive views of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Included locations provide perspectives of major glacial systems, such as the Perito Moreno and Upsala Glaciers, as well as the turquoise waters of Laguna de los Tres and Laguna Capri.

Mirador Las Águilas

Offers a panoramic view of Lake Viedma, Tunel Bay, and the Patagonian steppe from a high plateau.

Mirador Cerro Torre

Provides the first unobstructed view of the Cerro Torre granite spire and the Adela range along the Fitz Roy River valley.

Laguna de los tres

A glacial lake at the base of Mount Fitz Roy, providing the closest perspective of the main peaks and the Sucia glacier.

Laguna Capri

A blue-water lagoon surrounded by lenga forest, featuring a direct view of the Fitz Roy massif.

Mirador Cascada Margarita

Overlooks a waterfall across the Fitz Roy River, with views extending toward Cerro Solo and Cerro Torre.

Fitzroy with Laguna del Desierto viewpoint

Situated north of El Chaltén, this point overlooks the valley connecting the Fitz Roy peaks with the northern lake region.

Upsala Glacier
