Historic Churches of Lier

Lier’s religious landscape spans centuries of architectural evolution, from the city's sole Romanesque structure, the Sint-Pieterskapel, to the grand Brabantine Gothic Sint-Gummaruskerk. This collection includes the Beguinage's Sint-Margaritakerk and the former Jesuit church, now repurposed as a cultural concert hall. These sites showcase a variety of styles including Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque, many of which are dedicated to the city's patron saint, Gummarus, and reflect the community's deep-rooted spiritual history.
