Historic Middelburg

Middelburg’s architectural landscape is defined by its well-preserved Gothic structures and industrial heritage. This selection features the 15th-century Town Hall on the market square and the 90.5-meter-high Lange Jan abbey tower. The city's defensive history is represented by the Koepoort, the only remaining original gate, and a series of traditional 18th and 19th-century windmills including De Seismolen and De Hoop.
