Natural Wonders

This collection of natural sites in southwestern North Macedonia centers on the UNESCO-listed Lake Ohrid, one of Europe's oldest and deepest lakes. The region is defined by the limestone karst topography of the Galicica and Jablanica mountains, which has created extensive cave systems like Peshna and Samotska Dupka. Notable hydrological features include the Vevchani Springs and several seasonal waterfalls, illustrating the diverse geological landscape of the Treska and Ohrid basins.

Lake Ohrid

Lake Ohrid is a lake which straddles the mountainous border between the southwestern part of North Macedonia and eastern Albania.

Limestone cave in the Treska River canyon known for its karst formations and proximity to the Peshna cave.

Samotska Dupka Cave

A 600-meter-long cave situated within Galičica National Park, featuring various stalactites and stalagmites.
