Natural Wonders of the Moors
The North York Moors National Park contains one of the largest expanses of heather moorland in the United Kingdom. This collection features geological landmarks like the Jurassic-era Whitestone Cliff and the towering Wainstones rock formations. It highlights significant glacial valleys including Farndale, famous for spring daffodils, and the deep-cut Rosedale. Coastal highlights include the sandy bay of Runswick Sands, while inland features focus on the region's waterfalls, such as the 70-foot drop at Mallyan Spout and the secluded Falling Foss.
