Hermannsburg Historic Precinct

Nyinkka Nyunyu Cultural Centre

An Indigenous-owned center in Tennant Creek showcasing Warumungu history and culture. It features interpretive displays about the sacred Nyinkka (spiny-tailed lizard) dreaming, local bush medicine, and traditional land management.

Tiwi Designs

Located on Bathurst Island, this Indigenous-owned art center specializes in traditional Tiwi screen-printed fabrics, wood carvings, and ochre paintings. It is one of the oldest established Aboriginal art centers in Australia.

Injalak Art Centre

A non-profit Aboriginal-owned social enterprise in Gunbalanya. It serves as a hub for Kunwinjku artists known for fine-line rarrk paintings and traditional weaving, situated near ancient Arnhem Land rock art sites.

Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve

The original site of the 1872 European settlement in Alice Springs. It served as a relay station for the Overland Telegraph Line, which connected Australia to the world via an undersea cable to Java.

Yirrkala Gallery

Located in Arnhem Land, this Yolngu-owned gallery is world-renowned for bark paintings, larrakitj (memorial poles), and the historic Yirrkala Church Panels, which were significant in the Indigenous land rights movement.

Marrawuddi Arts & Culture

Located in Jabiru within Kakadu National Park, this gallery represents artists from the Mirarr clan and surrounding regions. It specializes in paintings on paper, bark, and fabric, plus hand-crafted jewelry.

Patakijiyali Museum

A community museum on Bathurst Island documenting Tiwi history, including the 1942 bombing of Darwin, traditional Pukumani burial ceremonies, and the impact of the Catholic mission on the islands.

Rock Art

Located in the Kakadu region, this site features ancient Aboriginal pictographs depicting Dreamtime stories, local wildlife, and early contact with Macassan traders and European explorers.
