Oslo's unique topography offers diverse vantage points ranging from urban architectural installations to natural forest peaks. This selection includes the historic Ekeberg slope, where Edvard Munch found inspiration, and the modern, wheelchair-accessible Stovnertårnet walkway. These locations provide varying perspectives of the Oslofjord, the Groruddalen valley, and the city skyline. Some sites, like Grefsenkollen and Kragstøtten, are accessible by road, while others like Vettakollen require hiking through the Nordmarka forest trails.

Grefsenkollen

Elevated peak 379 meters above sea level featuring a 1926 stone restaurant. It offers panoramic views of the city and Oslofjord, accessible by bus or hiking trails.

The Munch Spot

Located on the Ekeberg slope, this site marks the vantage point that inspired Edvard Munch's "The Scream." It overlooks the Bjørvika waterfront and the city center.

Stovnertårnet

A 260-meter long circular walkway reaching 15 meters above the ground. The structure is fully wheelchair accessible and provides views across the Groruddalen valley.

View Point

A natural peak situated between Holmenkollen and Sognsvann. Accessible via a forest trail from the metro, it offers views of the inner Oslofjord and its islands.

Kragstøtten

A monument dedicated to road director Hans Krag. Located on the route to Holmenkollen, the site provides a wide vista of the harbor and Bunnefjorden.

Revekleiva

A natural forest viewpoint in the Nordmarka wilderness near Sørkedalen, offering a quiet perspective of the western hills and surrounding woodland.

Kjærlighetsberget

A rocky outcrop near Årvoll and Grefsenkollen. It serves as a local sunset spot with unobstructed views of the city skyline and the fjord.

Solfjellet

A granite ridge in the Linderud area. Part of the Lillomarka forest trail network, it overlooks the Groruddalen valley and southern Oslo.
