Padua’s green spaces blend scientific history with grand architectural design. The Orto Botanico, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded in 1545, is the world’s oldest academic botanical garden. Nearby, Prato della Valle serves as one of Europe’s largest squares, centered around the statue-lined Isola Memmia. The city's landscape also includes the Giardini dell'Arena, which houses Roman ruins and the Scrovegni Chapel, and the Giardino dei Giusti del Mondo, a memorial park dedicated to humanitarian courage throughout history.
