Historic Heritage Sites

Pembrokeshire’s landscape is defined by its defensive architecture and ancient spiritual sites. This collection spans from the 5,000-year-old Neolithic dolmens of Pentre Ifan and Carreg Samson to the formidable Norman strongholds of Pembroke and Carew. It includes the uniquely reconstructed Iron Age hillfort at Castell Henllys, the ruined medieval Bishop's Palace in St Davids, and the riverside ruins of Cilgerran Castle. These sites illustrate the region’s evolution from prehistoric burial grounds to strategic medieval military outposts and ecclesiastical centers.
