Pismo State Beach Essentials

Pismo State Beach features a diverse coastal landscape centered around its historic 1,200-foot wooden pier and the expansive Oceano Dunes. Between October and February, the Monarch Butterfly Grove provides a seasonal sanctuary for thousands of migrating butterflies within eucalyptus clusters. This stretch of coastline includes the only California state park where vehicles are permitted on the beach, alongside local landmarks like Splash Cafe, known for its award-winning clam chowder. The area combines traditional surfing and sunbathing with unique off-roading opportunities across miles of shoreline.
