Ancient Ruins and Megaliths

This collection highlights the ancient architectural heritage of the Sochi region, primarily focusing on the mysterious Bronze Age dolmens of the Western Caucasus. These megalithic stone structures, dating from the 3rd to 2nd millennium BC, served as burial chambers or ritual sites. The list also features the ruins of the 10th-century Loo Temple, a significant example of Byzantine architecture on the Black Sea coast, known for its distinct shell limestone masonry.
