Bulgaria's Sacred Sites
This collection features the religious heritage of the Ruse region, centered around the Rusenski Lom Nature Park and the Danube river. Basarbovo Rock Monastery
Bulgaria's only active rock-hewn monastery, established during the Second Bulgarian Empire. It features a cave church, stone-carved cells, and the tomb of Saint Dimitar Basarbovski, accessible via a series of stairs cut into the cliffside.
