Spiritual Saga

Saga Prefecture’s spiritual landscape is defined by its deep historical ties to the Nabeshima clan and the region's world-renowned porcelain industry. This collection features the unique porcelain torii gates of Arita’s Tozan Shrine and the Edo-period architecture of Taku Seibyo, one of Japan’s oldest Confucian temples. The list includes Saga-jinja, dedicated to the 10th lord of the Saga Domain, and Karatsu Shrine, the focal point of the historic Karatsu Kunchi festival, showcasing a mix of Shinto traditions and rare scholarly monuments.
