This selection highlights the prominent peaks and high-altitude refuges surrounding San Vito di Cadore in the Eastern Dolomites. It includes Monte Antelao, the region's highest summit at 3,264 meters, and the 2,236-meter Giau Pass, known for its 29 hairpin bends. The list features historic alpine huts like Rifugio San Marco and Rifugio Galassi, which serve as key stopovers on the Alta Via 1 and 2 hiking routes, alongside geological landmarks like the Croda da Lago chain and the Sorapiss massif.

Rifugio Croda da Lago

Located at 2,046 meters on the shores of Lake Federa. It sits at the base of the Becco di Mezzodì and serves as a primary stop on the Alta Via 1 trekking route.

Becco di Mezzodì

Becco di Mezzodì is a mountain of the Croda da Lago chain, a small mountain group in the central Dolomites.

Rifugio Pietro Galassi

Situated at 2,018 meters at Forcella Piccola between Monte Antelao and Monte Sorapiss. This CAI-managed hut is a strategic base for the ascent of Antelao.

Rifugio Scotter-Palatini

Located at 1,580 meters on the slopes of Monte Antelao. It provides views of the Boite Valley and serves as a gateway to the high-altitude trails of the Marmarole group.

Rifugio San Marco

A historic 19th-century alpine hut at 1,823 meters. It preserves its original structure and sits at the junction of trails connecting the Sorapiss and Antelao massifs.

Ra Gusela

A 2,595-meter peak in the Nuvolau Group. It characterizes the skyline above the Giau Pass and is known for its steep vertical rock faces.

Punta Sorapiss

The 3,205-meter central summit of the Sorapiss Group. This prominent limestone peak is situated southeast of Cortina d'Ampezzo and north of San Vito di Cadore.

Cima Ambrizzola

The highest peak in the Croda da Lago chain at 2,715 meters. It overlooks the Mondeval plateau and the surrounding Ampezzo Dolomites.
