Santa Cruz de La Palma preserves a dense concentration of 16th and 17th-century architecture. A

Castillo de Santa Catalina

A 17th-century coastal fortification built to protect the city from pirate attacks. It features a square floor plan with bastions at the corners and is designated as a National Historic-Artistic Monument.

A traditional cobblestone square bordered by the former Convent of Santo Domingo. The space features mature trees and is surrounded by well-preserved examples of historic Canarian civil architecture.
