Majestic Lakes and Waterfalls

Sequoia National Park’s water features range from the 1,200-foot Tokopah Falls to the high-altitude glacial cirques of the Mineral King area. This collection highlights the diverse hydrology of the Great Western Divide and the Kern River drainage, including rare calcium carbonate formations at Tufa Falls and historic silver mining sites near White Chief Lake. These lakes and waterfalls serve as key landmarks along the park's extensive backcountry trail systems.

Tokopah Falls

A 1,200-foot cascade along the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River, accessible via a 1.7-mile trail from Lodgepole Campground.

Marble Falls

Multi-tiered waterfall flowing over white marble rock, reached via a steep 3.7-mile trail starting near Potwisha Campground.

Tufa Falls

Waterfall in the Mineral King area known for its unique tufa formations, which are calcium carbonate deposits created by mineral-rich springs.

Chagoopa Falls

A 1,200-foot waterfall that drops down the eastern wall of the Kern River Canyon from the Chagoopa Plateau.

Moraine Lake

High-altitude lake on the Chagoopa Plateau providing views of the Kaweah Peaks.

Little Five Lakes

A group of alpine lakes located in the Big Arroyo drainage below the Great Western Divide.
