Historic Churches & Chapels

Šolta's religious architecture spans from early medieval chapels to neoclassical parish churches. These sites are distributed across the island's inland villages like Grohote and Gornje Selo, as well as coastal settlements like Stomorska and Maslinica. Many of these stone structures serve as landmarks for local maritime traditions and pilgrimage sites, featuring traditional Dalmatian masonry and historical altarpieces.

Crkva svetoga Stjepana Prvomučenika

Large parish church in Grohote built between 1914 and 1917 on the site of a previous structure. It serves as the primary religious center for the island's largest village.
