Diocletian's Palace

Tvrđava Gripe

Golden Gate

The main northern entrance to Diocletian's Palace, originally known as Porta Aurea. This richly decorated Roman gate was reserved for the emperor’s use and served as the start of the road toward Salona.

The eastern entrance to Diocletian's Palace, or Porta Argentea. It provided access to the palace’s main street, the Decumanus, and was significantly reconstructed after being damaged during World War II.
