Stolac Essentials

Stolac serves as an open-air museum of Bosnian history, spanning from the Illyrian megaliths of Daorson to medieval UNESCO-protected necropolises. The town is defined by the Bregava River, which powers historic mills and forms the Provalije waterfall. Its architectural heritage includes the 16th-century Sultan Selim Mosque and the Vidoški fortress, alongside Ottoman-era residences like the Šarić house. A

Necropolis Radimlja

UNESCO World Heritage site featuring 133 medieval stećci tombstones dating from the 14th to 16th centuries. It is most famous for its detailed relief carvings, including the iconic figure with a raised hand.

A medieval fortress complex situated on the hill above Stolac. It comprises 13 towers and defensive walls, representing one of the largest fortification systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Daorson

Daorson was the capital of the Illyrian tribe of the Daorsi. The Daorsi lived in the valley of the Neretva River between 300 BC and 50 BC.
