Suceava Essentials
Suceava served as the medieval capital of the Principality of Moldavia for nearly two centuries. The city is anchored by the 14th-century Seat Fortress, a defensive stronghold that survived Ottoman sieges. Its spiritual landscape includes the UNESCO-listed Saint John the New Monastery and several historic Armenian religious complexes. Beyond its fortifications, Suceava preserves regional heritage through open-air ethnographic displays and museums housed in the city's oldest surviving secular buildings.
