Beautiful Beaches
Located on the western coast of Mahé, these beaches showcase the diverse coastal geography of the Port Glaud district. The selection includes the sheltered lagoons of Port Glaud and Baie Ternay Marine National Park, known for coral reefs and seagrass beds. It also features Anse Major, accessible via a granite-lined hiking trail through Morne Seychellois National Park, and the expansive sands of Grand Anse, characterized by strong surf and open ocean views.
A Anse Major
Accessible via a coastal hiking trail from Danzil or by boat. This secluded bay is bordered by smooth granite boulders and features a small freshwater lagoon at the forest edge.
Port Glaud
A shallow lagoon protected by the offshore island of L'Islette. The calm waters are suitable for snorkeling and swimming during high tide.
Grand Anse
A wide stretch of white sand backed by casuarina trees and mangroves. Due to strong undercurrents and high waves, swimming is generally discouraged at this location.
Anse des Anglais
A secluded cove accessible by boat or via a rugged path from the neighboring bays. It offers a quiet environment away from the primary tourist routes.
Baie Ternay
Part of a Marine National Park, this bay is a significant site for snorkeling and diving due to its coral reefs. It is primarily accessible by boat.
