Historic Fortifications

This collection showcases the strategic military architecture of Northern Morocco, featuring diverse structures from the 15th-century Portuguese ruins at Ksar es-Seghir to the 17th-century fortifications of Asilah and Tangier. These sites include massive city gates like Bab Al Bahr, defensive towers such as Al Qamra, and elevated kasbahs that served as administrative centers and military strongholds. The architecture reflects centuries of Mediterranean power struggles involving Moroccan dynasties and European colonial forces.
