Nature Trails & Peaks

Tioman Island's interior is defined by a dramatic granite massif and dense primary rainforest. This collection focuses on the island's most significant geographical landmarks, including the 1,038-meter volcanic summit of Gunung Kajang and the iconic twin granite peaks of Nenek Si-Mukut, also known as the Dragon Horns. The trails and climbing sites listed here, concentrated largely around the southern village of Mukut, showcase vertical rock faces, high-altitude jungle ecosystems, and hidden freshwater falls.

Ali's waterfall

A jungle waterfall located near Mukut village, accessible via a short trek through the rainforest.

Bagus Tower Cliff

A vertical granite formation within the Dragon Horns massif, used for technical rock climbing.

Nenek Si-Mukut

Known as the Dragon Horns, these twin granite peaks rise approximately 700 meters above the sea near the southern coast.

Bukit Nenek Simukut (Dragon Horns South Tower)

The southern peak of the twin granite towers, featuring steep multi-pitch climbing routes and views of the South China Sea.

Mount Kajang

At 1,038 meters, this extinct volcano is the highest point on Tioman Island and the highest island peak in Peninsular Malaysia.

Batu Sirau cliff

A prominent granite cliff face located in the southern interior, part of the rugged mountain range near Mukut.

Mumbar cliff

A steep granite rock wall situated in the southern highlands, utilized by climbers for its vertical terrain.

Nenek Si-Mukut Southtower Cliff

A high-altitude granite wall on the southern tower of the Dragon Horns, known for its established technical climbing paths.
