Tobago's Absolute Essentials

Tobago features a diverse landscape ranging from the UNESCO-listed Main Ridge Forest Reserve, the oldest protected rainforest in the Western Hemisphere, to the iconic thatched-roof jetty at Pigeon Point Heritage Park. Historical sites include the 18th-century Fort King George and the ruins of the Arnos Vale sugar plantation. For outdoor activities, the island offers snorkeling at Angel Reef, hiking to the three-tiered Argyle Waterfalls, and two championship golf courses. Pirates Bay provides a secluded coastal viewpoint, while the Scarborough Lighthouse remains an active navigational aid overlooking the capital.

Fort King George

A well-kept fort that used to belong to the British. Fun to explore and there's even a little museum.

Argyle Waterfalls & Nature Park

Several waterfalls connected by smaller pools. A marvellous sight and an enjoyable hike - notice the cocoa trees on the way there!

Scarborough Lighthouse

Built in 1842, this active navigational beacon sits 141 feet above sea level within the grounds of Fort King George. It offers panoramic views of Rockly Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Main Ridge Forest Reserve

This vast area is covered with tropical rainforest. Plenty of opportunities for bird-watching, hiking and getting to know the local nature.

Arnos Vale Waterwheel and Nature Park

Once a great plantation and sugar factory, now it lies it ruins. If you're into adventure and exploring, this is your place.

Tobago Plantations Golf Course

A relatively new par 72 course. Intriguing landscaping done on the site of a former coconut plantation.

Mount Irvine Bay Golf Course

18-hole, par 72 course with plenty of facilities and a long tradition. Perhaps the best course on all of the islands.

Anna Reef

This long reef extends farther than you'd expect. You can see all sorts of corals and other marine life on this diving site.

Angel Reef

This shallow reef is a favourite destination amongst both snorkellers and divers. A fun and rewarding spot with lots of marine life.

Pirates Bay

A secluded beach located near Charlotteville, accessible via a 100-step descent. The bay features calm waters and coral reefs, and famously served as a filming location for the 1952 movie Robinson Crusoe.

Tobago (TAB)

Formally known as A.N.R. Robinson International Airport, this is the primary gateway to the island. Located in Crown Point, it handles domestic flights from Trinidad and international arrivals.
