Stunning Viewpoints

Varenna offers several elevated locations providing panoramic views of Lake Como's central branch. The medieval Castello di Vezio features 11th-century ruins and a permanent falconry center overlooking the water. Nearby, the Hotel Eremo Gaudio, a former hermitage built into the cliffside, is accessible via a funicular. For hikers, the Baluardo lookout and the 863-meter summit of Monte Fopp provide distinct perspectives of the Bellagio promontory and the surrounding Grigne mountains.
