Veszprém Essentials

Veszprém, known as the 'City of Queens,' is defined by its dramatic limestone cliff topped with a dense collection of Baroque and medieval architecture. The Castle District serves as the historical core, featuring the 48-meter Fire Tower, the 18th-century Archbishop’s Palace, and St. Michael’s Cathedral. Beyond the fortifications, the city offers the Art Nouveau Petőfi Theater and one of Hungary’s largest zoos, which spans a lush valley and an expansive African savanna plateau.
