Viseu's Sacred Heritage

Viseu’s religious architecture spans centuries, centered on the landmark Adro da Sé square. The collection features the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, known for its 12th-century roots and Manueline vaulting, and the Rococo-style Igreja da Misericórdia. These sites showcase diverse artistic periods, from the Baroque gilded woodcarvings of the Igreja dos Terceiros de São Francisco to 18th-century azulejo tile work and historic chapels that define the city's ecclesiastical heritage.

Catedral Sé de Viseu
