Religious Heritage
Visoko's religious landscape reflects centuries of coexistence between Islamic and Orthodox Christian traditions. The town features a collection of Ottoman-era mosques, such as the Tabačka and Alaudinova mosques, which showcase traditional stone and wood architecture. Complementing these is the 19th-century Orthodox Church of Saint Procopius, a national monument home to a rare collection of icons. These sites highlight the architectural evolution and multi-confessional heritage of the Bosna river valley.
Tabačka džamija
A national monument originally built in the 17th century by the local tanners' guild. It features a distinctive wooden minaret and is situated along the banks of the Fojnica river.
Crkva Sv.Prokopija Velikomučenika
Built in 1853, this Orthodox church is a national monument. It houses a significant collection of icons dating from the 15th to the 19th centuries, considered one of the most valuable in the region.
Alaudinova džamija
Also known as Šadrvanska džamija, this 16th-century Ottoman mosque features a traditional stone minaret and serves as a central architectural landmark in Visoko's historic core.
