Historic Ruins and Monuments

The Wicklow Mountains hold a diverse collection of historical sites, ranging from Neolithic passage tombs to 19th-century industrial ruins. This list features the extensive early Christian monastic settlement of Glendalough, including its unique medieval gateway and cathedral. Visitors can also find remnants of the region's mining heritage at the Glendalough and Luganure lead mines, alongside high-altitude memorials and ancient hermitages like Saint Kevin's Bed.

Seefin Passage Tomb

Seefin Passage Tomb is an empty passage grave and National Monument located atop Seefin hill, County Wicklow, Ireland.

Saint Saviour's Priory

A 12th-century Augustinian priory located east of the main Glendalough site, featuring well-preserved Romanesque stone carvings on its arches and windows.

Gateway

The only surviving example of a medieval monastic gateway in Ireland, originally a two-storey structure with a timber roof that served as the entrance to Glendalough.
