Historic Churches & Cathedrals
Yekaterinburg’s religious architecture spans several centuries, from the 18th-century Baroque Ascension Church to the modern Church on Blood, built on the site of the Romanov family's execution. This selection includes the city's major Orthodox landmarks, such as the Trinity Cathedral and the John the Baptist Cathedral—the only church that remained active during the Soviet period. The list also reflects the city's denominational diversity, featuring Roman Catholic and Armenian Apostolic places of worship.
Great Zlatoust Church
The Bolshoi Zlatoust is a 77-metre-high bell tower that used to dominate the skyline of Yekaterinburg before the Russian Revolution.
Hram v cest Voznesenia Gospodna
Built between 1792 and 1818, this late Baroque structure stands as one of the oldest surviving religious buildings in the city.
