This large open field has been the place of royal ceremonies and various festivities since the time of King Rama I. Royal cremations were also held here.
King Rama V enlarged the park in the 19th century and planted tamarind trees around the area. Kite flying festivals take place here between February and April. Don't miss it when visiting Royal Palace!
